Innovate Lc-1 wideband reading rich

I recently purchased an Innovate LC-1 wideband from DIY. I have it installed and I did all of the calibrations but I am getting a rich reading. The leanest I can get it to read is 11.2:1 but the exhaust pipes are glowing red and the plugs are whiter than new. I have been on the phone with Innovate but they say it is impossible to get a false rich reading. Both logworks and Tuner Studio show the same AFR readings. I did the butane lighter test and it reads 9.0:1 with the butane. I'm not sure what to do. I tried going the other way going richer. I enriched the mixture until the rpms dropped but the reading went to 10.8:1 the plugs started to show some color and the pipes stopped glowing red. Any Ideas?

I'd first try a new free air calibration.

Matt,

Did that. This is the machine that I have emailed you about. According to Innovate the product is working correctly. The butane test confirms it, according to them. They also say it is impossible to get a false rich reading

What does it read in free air?

Free air the unit is reading 20.9:1 in Logworks

It shouldn't - is it reading 20.9% oxygen instead? If it's reading 20.9:1, something is very wrong.

Matt,

Your correct, my mistake. It is reading 20.9 % O2
