hey all, im new to the world of efi tuning, but after looking at different options i decided on a microquirt. the bike is an old fz600. but like all newbies there might be some rather stupid questions come up from me, and heres the 1st.
im going from carbs to throttle bodies, and will be using a pump from diyauto...question is, on the return line does it have to go back to the tank, or can i T-piece it into the line befor the pump?
thanks
az

The issue with the T-in is fuel heating. If you are not using a motorcycle type fuel pump volume can be quite high so there is lots of recirculation past the regulator. The fuel heats up from pressure rise and the heat of the pump motor itself. It's much better to return the fuel to the tank to allow cooling surface area and mixing back into cooler fuel.

So you are doing fuel only, triggered from the coil, as I think you have an unsupported timing pattern. Your ignition sensor is on the crankcase and uses the round pits and a milled slot machined into the outer crank web.
You can get a fuel tap with two outlets and push fuel back in with one if you extend the inlet. You could also mod your tank to take something like a Yamaha BT1100 fuel pump, or another injected bike in tank fuel assembly, and you'd also get a fuel return for nothing.
