Speed density and safety

Post by gboezio »

I'm in the middle of a turbo motorcycle build and a safety concern crossed my mind, I'm reverting the bike in speed density algorithm, witch include removing the ITB's and build an intake plenum with a single TB.
I'm building the plenum from 3/16" Aluminium TIG welded with reinforcing rods to avoid balooning.
My main concern is that in the event that a backfire or simply boost pressure rips the box open, the ECU sill see atmospheric pressure and there will be, on a bike on lower gear I may loose control before I reach the kill switch.
Is there any features in Microsquirt that could detect a situation of a high RPM, high load but closed throttle and shut off the ECU ??

I wouldn't expect a manifold like that to burst, but you could use a spare output (one of the LED wires) to trigger a relay to cut power to the injectors if the RPM, MAP, and TPS are all past certain limits. You end up using two spare outputs to put three conditions on one output.

Thanks, I will make a retaining system for the intake so it wont pop off it's boots(insulators) to avoid trouble.
