Help. Stuck in bootloader mode

Post by honda33cr »

Hello,

I am a Newbie to microsquirt and I am have some trouble trying to communicate with the ms. I have previously communicated with ms until I tried to update the .s19 file to version 2.884. Now it is stuck in boot loader mode and the computer will not communicate with the ms any more. The fuel pump will no longer turn on and the boot loader wire is not grounded. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

Are you sure its in bootloader ?
this happened to me, does the pump prime for about a second ? maybe you can here the relays click...
i have found that if i connect up to the laptop, power up the ignition and then switch on megatune...it connects staight away.
if i shut down the programme and restart, megatune will not connect. i can live with that

Thank you for your reply, but I am sure that it is in bootloader mode. The fuel pump does not come on at all and I am able to send new code , but not connect with portchecker. I tried your directions but still nothing.

Do you get voltage on the bootloader wire?

Matt,

Yes there is 4.87 Volts between the bootloader wire and ground. Does this sound right?

That's a good sign - no shorted wires forcing it into bootloader mode. Could you reload the code with the downloader and post a screen shot of what message you get?

Im having the same problem . Everything was connecting fine in megatune " fuel only " but couldn't get car to start and idle for more then three seconds .I thought i had my injectors batched together wrong high imp. wired two to each inj output . checked wires and had one wire wrong and actually had pmw idle wire spliced with inj.wire and nothing seemed off until i fixed my wiring and tried to start run good for 30 sec and now nothing but boadloader connection with and without bootloader wire grounded. And now ms shows 12v on inj outputs when ms has power? Fried vb921?

I am sorry that I cannot help with your problem directly but I think that I can point you in the direction of some body who can. Contact Matt Kramer from DIY autotune and see what he has to say. He helped me fix my problem and I have to say that the customer service was outstanding. In my case we had to end up replacing the microsquirt, but hopefully he can help you find a fix to yours.
