Would a Microsquirt works with my engine (V8 Ford)

Hi guys,
I am thinking of re-squirting my V8, this time I wont be using the MS1.
I've been looking at the Microsquirt but I don't know if this will work.
My engine specs are:
V8 ford
MSD6A for ignition
MSD distributor
4 Injectors throttle body (Auto-nomics)
Would someone will better understanding than me, tell me if a Microsquirt
would work?
Am I right to say that the Microsquirt is a MS2 in a small box?

If you are using high res code now, you must have High Z injectors? Then Microsquirt should work just fine.
Microsquirt has the same processor as MS2, though it's a little different due to no injector pwm, and no Stepper fidle, Otherwise for your purposes it would be the same.
Why don't you just plug in an MS2 processor module and wire up the ignition driver for spartk control under MS2? Seems like it would be easier and cheaper than switching over to Microsquirt.

I used the MS1 extra with the high res.
Yes I do have High Z injectors.
I like the small size of the Microsquirt, and it's professionaly build.
Less errors due to bad soldering ;)
Can I use my MSD with it?

Yes the microsquirt is smaller.
The vb921 ignition driver on the mirosquirt can easily drive your MSD white wire for spark control.
I believe your MSD dizzy has VR output, MSD calls it "Magnetic" which should work into the VR1 input of the Microsquirt no problem. Lock the dizzy to give you 10dbtdc fixed mechanical advance and starting should be a breeze.

The MS1 wasn't fast enough to get my engine running, I was advised to go with a MS2 with that engine.
The MS1 and MS2 are DIY kits, no matter how careful you are with the soldering you could potentialy have problems.
Hence Im choossing the Microsquirt.
Just to make sure I get that right (before I place an order), the Microsquirt CPU is the same as in the MS2, right?

Yeah, the same processor, but there's some differences in the io mapping, thus the MS2-extra code doesn't totally work on it yet. The standard B&G code for Microsquirt should work nicely for your uses.

I am going to fit a Microsquirt to my Cougar this week. This is going to be my testing mule. I have some dev EEC harness's and other stuff from a Megasquirt Vendor I will be testing before I make the trip back to Brissy after the holidays.
Specs for my Cougar -
68' stock 289 4bbl.
TFI dizzy
1" spacer with 2bbl carb adaptor with a ported Ford PI CFI injector assy.
Headman hedders w/full dual exhaust 2.25 through magnaflow turbo's out the back.
LC-1 wideband.
Megasquirt Relay board.
Custom harness with EEC-IV connector wired as per an 86 Mustang 5.0
Walbro fuel pump mounted back at the tank, with the return line going into the stock tank drain connection.
Basically, except for cubes and power potential, very similar to your setup.

Oh hey, almost forgot.
You need to add an external map sensor for the Microsquirt, I'm gonna shrink up a standard freescale map sensor for use in the harness, or mount it in a little box. I would use the GM sensor but I have a whole drawer full of these standard ones. I can glue two together and use the second one for baro correction. Just make sure to use a decoupling capacitor.

Let me know about this project of yours please once it's running.
The issue I have is my cam, it's a Compcam 280RH, I don't get much vacuum really
I'll get a GM style MAP sensor as it's not included in the Microsquirt.
