ITB MAP sensor connection position

Post by gary71 »

Hi all

I am converting my 911 to MS with individual throttle bodies as can be seen here:

http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=20765&start=0

My question is this:

Where should I pick up a MAP signal when all my induction tracts are effectively separate? Do I pick up on all six and average out the result?

Suggestions please 8)

This shows one half of the work in progress.

Port to all 6 intakes. Tee all six together and then route just on on to the Squirt. Plan on a restriction in that line and a fuel filter to act as a damper for any pulsation.

Thanks for the reply :)

I can get this sorted now.

Next question I've just thought of...

The easiest place to tap into to the throttle bodies for this MAP take off is the port that the original application had a stepper IAC valve connected to (little brass tubes in the picture). I can't drive this as I will be running MS1 extra, but if I wish to add a PWM idle valve at a later date can I tap in at the same place or will this totally mess the MAP readings?

Any thoughts?

PS

If at some day you add an IAC, you will not be able to share these same ports.

I have a 1983-911SC running TWM throttle bodies and I made a vacumn manifold out of a Volvo cruise control cannister. I have 4 hoses running from the Weber OEM manifolds and the throttle bodies into the cannister. From the cannister I have 2 lines going to the distributor, 1 line to the MS and 1 line to the power brakes. I don't have any inline filters and it seems to work fine and my brakes feel great.
