Hi all

need some advice on my fuel pump

the cars is a mk1 golf gti im using ms1 v3 board my problem is on my old setup the fuel pump took a feed from the coil which im guessing was a tach signal

i no longer have that coil or loom so how do i wire a new fuel pump in ??

i have the main wire from the pump and a switched 12v that went to the coil but how do i get the pump to come on then go off until cranking

if anyone has any ideas id be greatful but please note wiring is not my strong point so i need an idiots guide

The fuel pump doesn't use the tach signal, but the fuel pump relay does. You can feed the relay with the signal from any coil to turn it on, or you can just use a standard 4 pin relay in the 'special' one's place.

Im going to get a new for pin relay and wire it in seperately to the fusebox

hopefully it will work ok just need to sort some wires out now and work out where they go

Yeah I'd slap a normal relay in and go with that.
