2 FPR dead in a week!! Experiences?

Hi,
Less than a week ago I changed my FPR because it would let fuel into the vacuum hose to the intake. Now the unit I installed (junkyarded out of an alfa) is doing the same. Is this a known symptom on FPR or should I be looking for another problem that could serial kill my FPR's??
The replacement unit acted funny in that it would jack the pressure as high as 3.5 bars instead of the 3 bars it is rated at by all the web resources dealing with it. COuld its death be linked to his seemingly too high pressure, or agin can another fault cause the high pressure AND the FPR going wrong?
Thanks in advance for posting your experiences and reflexions! Séb
