we were planning on going to VIR, but with CNC vendor issues and this engine program, it wasnt going to happen
We are going to Detroit though, so I will be sure to stop by and see him. Another big thanks to Northwestern
coil is on order, will be picked up on thursday from the stealership

found the problem with firing. we've got spark all day long, but not firing right. i figured out what happened:
the crank wheel used to be 18 teeth -0, and the TDC tooth was extra long. we ground that off, and now i realize that microsquirt wants to see the tooth AFTER the missing one as TDC. so i set it to 17 delay teeth, and it sparks maybe once every 5-6 turns of the motor, and blows a fireball since it has 5 turns of fuel. i set it to 16, and then added 20 degrees (360* in a circle, with 18 teeth, 1 tooth = 20*) offset to it, and it fires, but it's way off. i've got work early tomorrow morning, so i'm leaving for the night. i think we need a new flywheel, cut the long tooth to regular size, then grind away the one before it, but the flywheel needs a special tool to remove, and i think boss man doesn't want to wait for suzuki to get around to ordering and shipping one, or maybe because it's like $100, but we're going to try to get our EE to trick microsquirt into doing it our way.

There shouldn't be any need to trick microsquirt. The number of times it fires per revolution is determined by skip teeth. This should be set to fire every 18 teeth since you have 1 cyl, wasted spark. If it doesn't fire that way then something is wrong. The timing of the spark is adjusted through delay teeth and trigger offset.
