OK how are you sharing this signal. Did you just splice into the wire?

no, not even that. he was having some fuel cut out problems with 2.3, so he changed to 2.36, and then forgot to save his config, so he was running off the v8 settings that were in there. called me up, put new settings in there, but the tach signal was half what it was supposed to be.

update was that he changed the code to the latest beta 2.68 something or other. then he like wiggled the serial cable or something and now it all works lol. spilled some beer on it, something like that. so i think it's all good now.

so i didn't wiggle anyting. i was running on v8 settings for about 30 seconds. that was fixed right away. that had nothing to do with the problem. after i fixed all of the settings and what not, the rpm was reading half of what it actally was. i tried about 4 different versions of code for the ms2 and megatune and nothing would fix it.

in addition to rpm problems, i was having intermediate connection problems. it would work fine for a little bit, then shut off. only thing to get a connection was to reboot the computer.

either way, this connection loss happened, so i rebooted. after that i started megatune and magically it was reading rpm correctly.

i didn't make any changes or mess with any wires. i was actually screwing with the ve table before the connection loss, so nothing was changed with settings or anything.

everything is working pretty good right now. no cut, idle or connection loss problems now.

anyone have any ideas what all that was about? i would like to avoid problems in the future and i'm wondering if there is a part on the board that might cause wierd problems like that.
