Post by 87vert »

We're trying to install an MSII on a mustang with a tfi ignition and an msd box. also going to try to run the stock IAC. Anyone else done this before that might make it easier on us. i tried a search but couldnt find much on wiring in the ignition system

So you have it running with the stock tfi? Is this using the circuit/settings described in the ms2 docs on tfi? Just curious, I am going to try to get mine running next weekend.

Send a PM to a guy named 'dieselgeek' -- I know he's mentioned helping out on several TFI installs.

Yes I followed the instruction on tfi page. Its not as complicated as it looks and it does work. Ive tuning my truck for a couple of days now with no real problems other than lack of knowlage. Once you get it running you get it running you will learn more...

I have tuned standalones before (motec, haltech, sds, and also "chipping" factory ecus with binary editors), so I am looking forward to the tuning part. I just noticed on the ms2 docs, it said the tfi setup was unverified. I guess that little warning flag is a little outdated then? I have mine built and stim tested, and I agree the tfi modifications are nice and simple. Thanks for the reply.
