Would you be interested in purchasing a 'universal' IAC housing for a stepper motor IAC?

Adapter to turn a housing from a 91'+ jeep I-6 into a housing with 1/4 pipe threads that can be used independently of the throttle body; cost $27.00 to $22.00

Completely new housing where you would just have to get the IAC and connector, this would have 3/8 pipe threads; cost: $47.00 to $37.00

Just so everyone knows the IACV housing will be available from Jerry at DIYAutoTune.com. I have attached some pictures of the prototype. some changes were made to improve usability. first 4 holes were put on the back to facilitate mounting (screws included) and the position of the IACV was slightly changed to compensate for some overhang. The design is simple as possible to lower costs and pass savings on to you. I put my MSII in the picture for size reference.

DarkStar/Jerry,

When you guys have these ready for release, could you post an announcement here so I can add a link to it in the IAC section of the documents?

Thanks,

Lance.

leak air source

If you have a 3/8 npt thread on the output thats fine for connecting to the intake manifold, but how are you connecting the bypass air into the housing?

You can just leave it open (not recomended) or better you can hook it up to a small filter (ie small K&N or even use one of those clear fuel filters). Each car will be different and trying to figure out a filter box mount that would fit all vehicles would not have been cost effictive. I have tried to design it as simply as possible to keep costs down and yet to have it as usable as possible. The best place (IMHO) to run the intake line to is on the clean side of the air filter before the throttlebody.

When I initially priced out these units it was just for the bare block. Since that initial quote the design has gotten more complicated and I wanted to add all the little screws and fittings. Thanks to Jerry putting up enough to get a larger quantity made we were able to add these extra features without raising the costs too much above the initial quote range. He will also have the pigtails available for this type of IAC valve if needed. I will not be selling these directly from myself as it would be difficult for both me and you because I am not setup for it. I believe he will be pricing them at $50 per unit. I will be happy to provide any support I can via this board and would appreciate any feedback from those that purchase one.

It won't be long now-- they are nearly finished being machined and I'll have them soon after. I'll update this thread as soon as they are ready.

Thanks!

They will hopefully ship to me later this week, if so I'll have them available next week most likely--

When I saw your post I was wondering if it was the same Robf from http://www.mr2oc.com -- the 'it tastes like burning' guy ;)
