The problem you are having is that you enabled the auto trigger on one laptop and not on the other. To enable auto trigger, its not enough to just enable it in the menu, you also have to click the file menu at the top and select Properties, Settings Tab and then make sure it is also enabled there. You don't want to use Spark/fuel Offset Cyl. With Auto Trigger there is no need, it calculates it for you.

As far as the data, after you sort this out, if you are still having problems, I need an msq file. You get this by doing a File Save Tune, then post it. I don't want an old msq, I want the one you generate after you have sorted out your laptop data sets and have run the car.

I have followed your instructions and it all seems OK now on the settings side of things however the plugs are still firing the same but I tried a start anyway and I'm still getting bad kickbacks so I dont want to try anymore as I'm worried about damaging the starter sprag .I have attatched the latest msq.
I am running a 36 tooth trigger wheel with 1 missing tooth, I running a 211 Bosch igniter firing 4x pencil coils using wasted spark on a even fire 4 cylinder. I have the trigger wheel fitted so that the first tooth after missing is exactly on on the VR sensor at TDCC1 (I'm using the original sensor).Hope this helps.

Just a few thing jump out.

In injector settings you have your # of cylinders and injectors set to 8, should be 4, that is why it is firing every 90 deg. Looks like your cranking rpm is a little high.
In other fuel settings you have tps flood clear set to 1%, should be 70%. You have AFR Stoich set to 4.5, should be 14.7. Did you read the manual on how to set up AutoTrigger. Also did you verify your timing with a timing light.
You have skip pulses at 18, I would try about 3.
Not sure about this one ,but I think your cranking trigger should be set at calculated.
How have you got your Bosch 211 wired?

I am only controlling spark at the moment so I have just left all the fuel settings as they came so as not to confuse matters, would they effect the spark?
You may be onto something about the "skip pulse" settings , am I confusing skip pulse with skip teeth? I cant get the engine to run yet so I cant confirm the timing with the light.
I have wired the Bosch unit as per the instructions that came with the unit and I've double checked these with the ones in the manual and its all OK including the trigger settings.

Definitely make those changes, especially number of cylinders. That should solve a lot of your problems. And you can test and maybe time the ignition by disconnecting the injector plugs so cranking won't hurt your starter.

In auto trigger mode, you can't change Skip Teeth - it is calculated for you. Number Skip Pulses just throws out the first few pulses, leave it at 2-3. 18 won't hurt you are just cranking have a turn extra before it will start firing.

What we want to see is a wiring diagram of how you physically have your coils wired from the Microsquirt,to the 211 and to the coils. Also, do you have good information on what the dwell setting should be for the coils that you are using. If these are motorcycle COP's make sure they are not cdi ones as they will fry your ignition module.
Cdi coils will usually have a primary resistance of 1 ohm or lower.
As Grippo said, remove your injector fuse and the spark plugs so the motor will spin over easy and try to check the timing with a light.
Leave your spark plugs in the leads and ground them to the motor. Not doing this is hard on the coils.
Also spin the motor over with the plugs out and the ignition off to clear any fuel out of the cylinders that may be there because of your failed starts. The reason for this is, fuel spraying out of spark plug holes,plugs sparking on top of head= big fire.

It looks like it was just a setting . thanks guys, I have noticed that my MAP readings are pretty up and down but I put that down to taking it off one cylinder (the only option on a bike) so I need to damp that a bit, Old guy I have copied my dwell settings from someone on here who has use the same coils successfully, they are COP's but they are 2,5 ohm each.

No problems with fire Old Guy as I'm only running spark first so I have removed the carbs completely while cranking.

You can T the vac off of all four intake tracts. Some people have had luck with about a .030 restructure in the vac line.A mig welding tip works good. There is a tradeoff between response time and a steady vac signal.You might have to play with the size to achieve this.

Good idea I'll give that a try. Another question, because I am running COP I can't connect a timing light in the usual way, does anybody have any suggestions on how to hook up a light?

Just make a short spark plug wire that goes from the COP to a stock spark plug boot. Also I have seen some timing lights that would trigger off of the coil primary wire using the inductive pickup.
You definitely need to set the timing with a light.
