Post by odum13 »

A few questions
Working with a 2007 yamaha r6r motorcycle

What or how do you find out the setting for manifold displacement

Ignition trigger settings any help there also

Any links for help on motorcycle motors

Really feeling stupid right now

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the madness!

I believe the later R6 use a 12-1 trigger wheel ; not sure what the tooth #1 angle is.

What do you mean by manifold displacement?

odum,

Manifold Displacement is the actual physical volume if the interior of the intake manifold. It is only used if you are using the model based algorithm (and we need to modify the INI so that it only shows up for users in that case). So if you are not using the model based algorithm (instead you are using speed density with a MAP, alpha-N with a TPS, or you are using a MAF directly) then you can ignore this parameter.

If you are using the model based algorithm, you can either measure or estimate the manifold volume. A typical V8 single plane manifold is around 2400cc. A 4 cylinder might be around 1200cc with a 6 cylinder around 1800cc. Of course, if your engine is smaller than 'normal', the value is likely smaller than that.

You can't change cell size for ve. You would have to go to msextra code for that.
