Just bought MS V2.2 module but..?
Just bought MS V2.2 module but..?
I am sorry for my poor english but I hope you´ll understand.
To begin with, I bought MS V2.2 board: http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/micr ... p-381.html
Now i have some questions about wiring it up. I actually do not know what pins i have to use to make that cable connecting computer and this ECU. What is this cable type? Does the cable between computer and ECU begin from J1 pins?
Or may be someone has a explanation to all these pin outs (where to connect rxout, txout, canl, canh etc etc..)?
Thank You
Mark

We typically connect them to a PCB rather than a cable, but you could solder a cable to a module if you want.
Re: Just bought MS V2.2 module but..?
But..Could you tell me what type of cable is between computer and the module?
The next question is how do i know that "for instance, if there is 8 terminals, what is the proper order?"

You need to send an RS-232 level signal to the module. What cable you use to get it there is up to you.makuke wrote:Thank You for the link,

I'm sorry, I don't understand that question at all.The next question is how do i know that "for instance, if there is 8 terminals, what is the proper order?"

Hi Mark, makuke wrote:I mean that the RS-232 level signal is sent by cable. This cable consist of many wires and how do i know, what pins i should use? I do not know where to connect these following pins: Serial Tx, serial Rx, bootload, CANH, CANL, Vref, opto in (+), opto in(-). I expect that some of the pins i have to use in order to establish connection between module and computer.

the microsquirt serial connection uses 3 wires only: Serial TX (6), Serial RX (4) and Serial ground (31). That's pin 2, 3 and 7/1 on a standard 9-pin serial connector.

Markus

To make my mind clear, did you mean that Serial ground I have to connect into pin 7 AND 1 or just choose one of them?
You say that this 9pin serial cable with USB connector is the right thing i need?
Big thanks to You!

Yes. Vendors sometimes don't agree on which of them is shield and which is ground, so better connect both.makuke wrote:Thank You Markus!

Can't guarantee that this specific make will work (µS seems to be a bit picky regarding USB<->serial adaptors at times), but in principle - it's what you need.makuke wrote: You say that this 9pin serial cable with USB connector is the right thing i need?
