Dang, that injector looks huge!
My next adaptor board for the Microsquirt is almost done, there will be no problem installing that inside a Stock ECU case. (MicroSquirt inside!!)
Just waiting like everyone else, making a fool out of myself (like I need any help there) and drooling all over my keyboard......

ETA is close, but I am still working out last minute details on the harness and assembly. The harnesses that I had built up need some tweaks on the serial cable and such. And I am getting a few more units engine-tested, especially the dual spark mode w/ dual VR inputs.Mk1rocco wrote:Getting back to the original topic of this thread, is there an ETA for general release?
I am having one dyno tuned at the moment, and they have the engine up and running, but they need to fix their injector arrangement. Their current setup is 8 low-z injectors (4 per bank). Microsquirt is designed to drive a maximum of 5 amps per bank, anything more and the driver chip (VND5N07) will start a linear current limit mode to maintain 5 amps. These low-z injectors measured about 4 ohms, so 4 in parallel yields (4 ohms/4) = 1 ohm load. Without current limit the current is (12V / 1 ohm) = 12 amps. Since the drivers limit the current at 5 amps, the remainder is thrown away as heat as the driver servos into a current limit mode. The difference between 5 amps and 12 amps is 7 amps, this is what is dissipated in the driver as heat. The power is I*I*R = 7 * 7 * 1 = 49 Watts!!!
The setup is switching to 12-ohm injectors. With 4 per bank, there will be a total of 3 ohms load, and the current is 12/3 = 4 amps, this is below the 5-amp current limit, this will operate fine.

Could we have some kind of a ballpark price? and / or availability date?
