EDIS spark cutout under boost
When the problem is occuring this is what it does.
I get a hard cut out, the tach stumbles (driven off the coils VIA diodes and zener), the engine miss' violently, and the logs show a rpm drop (more than the actual engine does).
It only does it under load (boost), will not do it under cruise. When it is happening it is very obvious I can't get above 5 psi boost. When it is running good I have no problem going to 25 psi.
It has been intermitiant for the last 3 months. It was much more frequent when I had MSD DIS-4 hooked up between the EDIS module and the coils.
Without the MSD it would go for weeks without doing it. With the MSD it only worked a couple of times in a month of playin around.
IT will do it hot, or cold. I can stop and restart the engine and sometimes it is gone. The next time I can stop and restart and it is still there.
I have tried the following.
-Changed the coil, plugs, and wires, did not do it for a week, then first race day it crapped out again.
-At the race I cleaned up the coil primary connector and it run good for 4 hours straight
-I ran a completely different coil primary wires and plug with a different coil 12+ source. no change.
It seems to be at the EDIS module or the VR sensor. The VR sensor is new and the wiring is mostly stock and is fully sheilded.
It seems if the MS is logging a RPM drop from the SAW of the EDIS and my tach is showing a drop wired into the primary side of the coils then my problem is in the EDIS somewhere.
I know the IDM is driven off the primary side of the coils, does anybody know if the SAW signal is in any way tied to the coils. I am just trying to figure out how the module or VR sensor could be "load" sensitive as it runs fine with out load.
Well if the above makes any sense and you have some ideas... I would like to hear them.

I am led to believe that the problem is somewhere inside MS, as i get an engine bit zero when the drop accours. This is no re-set though, because all other parametres are ok. ( map, mat, clt, and tps)
tried to upload log, but it won't upload the file:-( pm me with e-mail add, if anyone wanna see the log file..)
I have complete and almost complete RPM dropouts. Other inputs seem fine, is load dependent, more than RPM
And now it has not done it for 4 days again. This could be hard to figure.

Just one thing I havn't thought of until now. I run with real absolute pressure a bit higher than what my VE-table is set up with. Can that produce results like this? VE is set to MAP 200, while I'm running MAP 218
The problem was the plugs were arcing out against the block, not firing inside the cylinders at all. Try running your motor in pitch black and rev it up, check around the plugs to make sure they arent arcing out.
I've also experienced similar dropouts when my VR sensor wasnt quite close enough to the wheel. and also when the wiring plug for it started to fail. and again when the coilpack plug started to fail. The cure for those is to replace, clean, or tighten all the connectors and harness plugs, and if your motor vibrates alot, hotglue the suckers in place.
Upon looking at your log file, I think your problem is related to alternator disturbance. Have you tried to disconnect your alternator, and then take a test run?
I had similar disturbance, but got rid of it by installing a capasitor on the alternator, and a regular ice filter on the MS +12v
My log file is not anything like yours. All my parameters are nice and clean, exept that the rpm line drops much more than the actual rpm.
