The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

i have bought gsxr throttle bodies from a guy on the net.. the secondary butterflys have been removed.. i was just wondering if these were needed. i am using them on a 1600 8v citroen saxo vtr engine that i have fitted to may citroen ax.
also any advice on building a manifold for these.. do i need a fast idle valve...

so basicall what you are saying is, they are not needed for anything.
are they needed for cold starting or anything..
if i was talking in carburettor terms they look like the choke and spindle but being throttle bodies i am unsure as i am no efi expert.
just been looking at the t/b set-up.
im not sure what all the pipes are for.
there are four thin pipes that connect single out to one thin pipe,
they are connected to the underneath of the throttle valve (engine side).
i am guessing these pipes are for the map sensor.
the second load of pipes also single out to one which are a bit thicker, they sort of line up with the throttle valve when the trhottle valve is closed.. im not sure but i think this might be something to do with the fuel pressure regulator or fast idle valve..
then there is the third thin pipe on its own, this goes to the third t/b to the under side of the throttle valve. i have no idea what this one is for..
can anybody help me with this?.
cheers, jamie.
Pics would really help, my 600 TB's have two nipples beneath each body (engine side of the butterfly) I currently use one set of take off's for the Squirt MAP and the other to the fuel pressure reg. My manifold then has a central take off that feeds the brake vacuum
cool, o.k so for the servo vacuum do you use one of the manifold ports or do you use all of them?.
i will get pics posted tomorrow.. i have to do a night shift soon so i havent got much time..
