LC1 wiring, which analog output to the MSII?

Post by allen22 »

Hello,
Finishing up my LC1 install, just wondering which analog output should I wire into the MSII V3's 02 sensor input pin? I figure output #1 but just checking.

Thanks

I used the channel 2...the first channel is pre-programed for a narrow band 0-1v signal, the 2nd is preprogrammed for a wideband 0-5v siganl

Gotcha, so you used the brown wire, analog output 2 to connect to your megasquirt.

Thanks!

Don't remember the color, I remember that output 2 was the WB signal.

There should be an instuction sheet somewher in the box...there is also a quick refernce page. I think the ref page has that info if you want to double check it.

I just did this myself. On page 10 of the LC-1 .pdf manual it states that output 2 (brown wire) is factory preset to output 1 to 2 volts so I foolishly assumed that output one (yellow wire) was preset to be 0 to 5 volts. Well it didn't work when I wired it up.

I simply used LM Programmer to reprogram the output to 0 to 5 volts and bingo! All is well in MT and on my MegaView.

Good luck.

By the way did you do the 470 Ohm resistor mod on your LC-1 output to MS? The general concensus seems to be put it in just in case to save damaging your LC-1. I did it and the sensor seems to work fine. Just a thought.

Hmm, I don't see anything about it on page 10 but on page 14 it says this:
As factory programmed the first output simulates a typical narrow band oxygen sensor. The
second output is programmed to output between 0 V for an AFR of 7.35 (gasoline) and 5.0V for
an AFR of 22.39. Other curves of course are easily programmable
This would indicate that I should use output 2 since it's already set up for 0-5V operation, right?

But it sounds like it's easy to reset it so I probably could use either output and use LMProgrammer to reset like you did?

I don't have the 470 Ohm resistor, don't know much about that. Is it mentioned in the LC1 manual?

thanks

Well that's bizarre. We apparently have two different manuals for the same piece of equipment! My page 14 is "Advanced Output Programming" Strange.

On the resistor issue I should have linked you to the thread here at msefi.com The information is not in the LC-1 manual but has been discussed here and also at innovatemotorsports.com

I got my resistors at Radio Shack, part # 271-1115. Package of 5 for $1.00
