The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

I am new to this forum and also to MS. Have been reading a bit for some time now to learn a bit about MS.
I want to put MS on a Saab 99 with a Saab 900 16V-enigne. For ignition I would like to use the Saab DI (Direct Ignition) which has 4 single-coils (each for one cylinder).
I think I have read somewhere here that someone is running this with MS1 on a 900 Turbo.
My question now is, if I can run the DI with MS2, or only MS1 + MSNSE?
Yes, I already stumbled over some threads here from KeithG. That is why I am thinking about running the Saab-DI aswell.
But I am not sure if the MS2 can run this, too, or if it is only possible with MS1+MSNSE...
It has been a long time since I experimented with the Saab module and I can't remember how it routed the spark. If there are 4 inputs from the ECU and 4 outputs to the 4 coils, then MS II can not at this time do the routing. If there is only 1 input from the ECU, then it might be possible. We need a description of the pins to answer the question.
