So you have a V3 board then?
How about the rest of the input instructions? Did you do them?

The output side isn't really relevant yet as you have no rpm, but if you are using a spark box and the "points" input then just wiring to the LED negative will work.

the rest, ok, this is where I'm at right now,

the hall circuit is installed as per megamanual, the mods on the tfi specific site are done

V3.0 board
We will use the opto input so none of the VR components are actually required, they do not hurt if you have already fitted them though.
Jumper TachSelect to Optoin
Jumper XG1-XG2
Jumper OptoOut to Tsel
Fit a jumper instead of D1
Fit a 1k resistor instead of D2
Remove C30 if fitted.

thats all I have done

the pip wire, I just tee'd into it all the grounds are still there and 12v is still there, the tach or spout was removed

Check you have 12v at the tfi module during cranking.

Put a volt meter on the PIP output from the TFI (at the module) and with dizzy cap removed, rotate the engine by hand. You should see the PIP signal change from 12v to 0v or 0v to 12v as each vane edge passes the hall sensor.

Also, unplug the TFI module and connect the PIP wire that feeds the Megasquirt to 12v then 0v then 12v. You should see an indication of life in Megatune. If you do it fast enough you'll see some rpm.

Perhaps this is the problem. Cut off the other branch so it goes
TFI -> Megasquirt only.

well tried to spin the dizzy by hand and nothing came out the pip, then checked for 12v at the tfi, the one that has 12v run and start is present, the other, start only had nothing, so I ran a wire from the started solenoid to that one, still nothing, this is on a 95 mustang with the remote tfi, there are 7 wires going to the dizzy and 6 that are at the tfi module, on the dizzy there are 4 grounds I think, which are all connected to ground, there is a green pip, and a gray pip, in the schematic, the grey goes to the ecu and the green goes to the tfi, the other wire is 12v start or run, I'
m starting to think something is wrong with either the tfi or the dizzy, but both worked before I removed everything.

would it be easier for me to switch to a 87-93 style dizzy with the tfi right on the side of it?

gotta figure it out soon, not much hair left to pull out:)

Also thankyou everyone who is helping me out

alright guys, been workin on it pretty much non stop, here is where I'm at:

the msd sparks when pin 36 is grounded-working properly
the MS when 12 is applied registers rpm and the pulsewidth is still not moving, not too sure why - is this normal? but other than that seems to be working, tried playing with the dizzy, no response from either the dizzy or tfi, so my solution is to use an msd pro billet 87-93 with the tfi on the dizzy, I wanted to do this anyhow, and looks like I had no other options, I will update this when I get home from work tonight and have the new dizzy installed, praying it will start.

on another important note - the diy 'MS your mustang" the diagram that has the msd only tfi wiring has the following:

1 pip to MS
2 No connection
3 12v start and run
4 12v start and run
5 no connection
6 ground

now I think the pin 4 should only have 12v when starting and not while running, being a push type start, thats the push, mimicing the pip signal, right now I'm going to wire pin 4 to the starter solenoid, that way only 12v starting.

please correct me if I'm wrong, I would really love to hear it start tonight
