trouble tunning idle speed with a/c unit

Post by Alonso »

have msII v3 board 2.36abs firmware and msd 6al
engine is an aircooled type 1 vw engine.

engle 100 camshaft with nice vacuum signal.

without no load i have a nice idle speed of 980 rpm and a very stable map signal of around 55 to 63 kpa.
when turning on a/c unit engine stalls.
can i tune my ve ignition advance and ve injection so that the engine idles with the a/c unit?or will it be mandatory to use idle speed control valve with idle algorithm?
already tryed advancing timing and fuel in the area of 100kpa to 65kpa without any results.
i dont know how to understand what engine is asking for.

will preciate any help. :D

I had a similar problem with Power Steering on my car, the engine needs more air and maybe slightly more fuel to compensate for the loading of the a/c.

You could fit a simple air valve wired to the AC unit that adds extra air when it`s active, or install one of the Idle Valve solutions listed for MS2.
