VE tables and kPa values for a boost

Post by richiea »

On a turbo application, I created my initial VE table by generating based off hp/tq and displacement and kPa inputs. The table then gets generated ranging from the lowest kPa rating (0 or 20kPa for idle) to 180kPa (my boost pressure, 0.8bar).

Now lets say I burn that to the ECU, turn the car off, close megatune, reopen megatune, turn the car on and I go back to the VE table, I see kPa values only up to 100kPa! Am I missing something with the configuration of a boosted engine?

If I am missing something and need to change something, could this be a reason as to why my car seemed to actually LOSE power as the turbo spooled?

Thanks for the help!

What ms version and code are you using? in MS 1 you have to burn to ecu (in the menu at the top of the table), if not the table you`ve created lives in RAM until the ECU is turned off, then the original table is reloaded from Flash when the ecu is switched back on. Don`t drive the car with 100kpa as the top bin, you`ll probably melt a piston or worse..

Lose power as in HP or Electricity?

Is it transfering the data to MS?
