BraneDeadx,

This feature is not documented yet. I am working on it (along with a million other things). If you want to know how any undocumnented feature works, your best bet is to look at the source code, which Al documents quite well (that's how I write 90% of the docs).

dam that bites, i see it in the code but how to switch that bit on? perhaps sending a serial byte or something not sure there, it might have to be switched on from recompileing the code? i guess i can jerry rig up a tach simulator what not, i just want see if all my injectors are spraying same amount....

thanks anyways

BraneDeadx,

The next place after the code to look is in the appropriate megasquirt-II.INI file. Eric often puts stuff in there that isn't enabled yet, so look for something like:

Code: Select all

injTestMode     = bits  ,  U08,    973, [0:0], "Off", "On"  ;   (  1 byte )
as well as
injTestSqrts = scalar, U16, 982, "squirts", 1, 0, 0, 65000, 0 ; ( 2 bytes)
injTestPW = scalar, U16, 984, "us", 1, 0, 0, 65000, 0 ; ( 2 bytes)
injTestOffTime = scalar, U16, 986, "ms", 0.1, 0, 0, 6500, 1 ; ( 2 bytes)
; pageSize = 988
In the code it says:

Code: Select all

InjTestNoSqrts, // No of squirts in test/clean mode.
InjTestPW, // Pulse width(usec) for testing/ cleaning injectors.
InjTestOff; // Time(msx10) between inj test squirts
For example, I added:
field = "Injector test mode", injTestMode
field = "Injector test squirts", injTestSqrts
field = "Injector test PW", injTestPW
field = "Injector test offtime", injTestOffTime
right after:
field = "Prime, ASE, WUE Tables", CWOption
, which adds the test injector option to the 'Settings/General' menu.

I have attached the INI file (for 2.66) that has the above modificatins, so it exposes the Injector test parameters, but I have not tested it. Try it on the stim and make sure it is right before proceeding.

To fix any errors you find, follow the above variables through the logic of the INI file. See some of the other variables in that file as examples.
It won't be simple to do this, but you'll learn a lot! Alternatively, you can wait for Eric to do it, but he is very busy these days.

Lance.

Al did add this into a later version of the 2.6x code (see beta list). I know that this is not in the .ini file yet, mainly because no one has gotten around to adding this in. Eric has been helping with the .ini file maintenance but he has been tied up lately (no problem!) so the code features are outpacing the MegaTune access.

I asked al to put this in because of all of the responses to the old JectroRate injector driver board. It seemed silly to have to build up a board just to pulse injectors when we have MS and it can do it just as easily.

Here is the code snippit on the inputs (this needs to get put in the .ini file for access to this mode):

Code: Select all

 InjTestOption; // Puts program in injector test mode: program fires both
                  // injectors according to parameters further below. when done
                  // program halts until hard or soft reset issued.
unsigned int
...
...
...
...
   InjTestNoSqrts, // No of squirts in test/clean mode.
   InjTestPW, // Pulse width(usec) for testing/ cleaning injectors.
   InjTestOff; // Time(msx10) between inj test squirts.

Very, very easy to use.

well i apperaite the input!!! but i basicly i wanted to test the injectors to see if all them can fill up my rain gauges i bought...

i hooked up a tach single to the MS and just let them run for a minite and sure enough it filled the gauges equaly no problem (theres were new injectors anyhow) so that leaves me hear stuck with a dead motor :( 6grand scrap metal heh..... sure was an intresting jounry turboin and tuning the EFI.... i have no idea why one piston would melt down while others are ok... i never heard the motor knock or ping but then agian how can u with a modifiyed exhaust ..... so

that was that, hehe that just gives me a new reason to start building something eles, supercharged mini bike , at least i can handle that :P

From all the engines I`ve seen it is normally only 1 piston that lets go, what do the rest look like, can you post a pic?

yeah whats odd is when i blew the head the first time the gasket gave out on same piston, whats even more so is the vacume booster for the breaks is connected to that port and not theintake manifold it self... but it seemed fine and sealed for most part....

as for the piston it self its not like a puddle of metal there, basicly theres a portion near the edge where some of the metal melted and pitted, and on the head it self shows same thing in same area ... before i pulled head off i notice i had a lot of blow by and pil shooint out of the breather.. also theres scaring on the blocks walls for that piston to....

so this all adds up to a very mean lean condtion .. im sure i could swap another head on (which was the plan) but im pretty sure i killed the rings for that piston and with the way it looks i wouldnt trust it anymore anyhow, it probley run ok as a daily driver with no turbo but wheres the fun in that? so off to ebay the car and parts go :(
