The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.

I have tried a search but it didn't come up with any answers........i am changing my Saab 99 from Bosch K-jet to MS with throttle bodies, i have more or less sussed out the ignition side, thanks to help from the forum on the ignition part of the site, but while i was thinking about the fuel side, i realised the K-jet uses an accumulator to maintain pressure and smooth out pulsing, will i still need this when i change over to the new system, my gut feeling is that i will not need it, because i don't think other similar systems use an accumulator, but i thought you guys would now better .
Taking a MAP signal directly from your intake is probably better, assuming that accumulator does more than just store vacuum.
Most accumulators have outputs to all sorts of vacuum-operated mechanisms within the car, and a leak at any one of those ports (or their downstream systems) will cause inconsistency in your MAP reading.
If your accumulator is truly just for storing and smothing the MAP signal, and there are no outputs to any other systems, then you can probably leave it in place.
Sorry 78Spit1500Fed, maybe i should have been more specific, R2.0 is correct it is an accumulator in the fuel line between the in-tank fuel pump and metering distributor.
No, you won't need it. With CIS, you really only need it if you're not willing to turn on the key and wait a second or two for the fuel pump to build pressure.
There's a shop called Blitz Racing that makes bungs for using EFI injectors in a K-Jet manifold, btw.
