Spare output question

Post by BraneDeadx »

I had a quick question ask see if anything has tried this... ofcourse with the 2.3 code or higher on MS2 u can run spare output ports and use them to turn stuff on and off, nothing new , but what if u were to do this...

get a fast acting soilnoid and hook it up to one the spare outputs (useing proper transistors what not) and set it up so that if ur KPA reading is higher then ur setpoint to open it, this will let the air into my wastegate on my turbo to open it up,..... and of course once it falls below setpoint to close it.....

just a out of the box question , i know real boost controllers use feed back loops etc.... this would be very cheenzey way of doing it.... im just wondering if anyone has tried it????

Sean.....
Im hear to take over everyone and there megasquirt, ive been there done that with my own EFI gizzmo's check my site out for more!! :)

A simple on off pressure switch (or in this case the MS output) can help you control boost.

This is one way.

I am going to try this once I get my new ranger 2.3 turbo combo sorted out. The current 20 psi that my holset comes with will keep me busy for a bit.
