MAP up, AFR up

Hi there

I am in the middle of further tuning of my supercharged 1300 cc Austin Healey Sprite. The car is driving pretty will, only some bucking once in while. I installed the Extra Code and got spark control now, so I go on tuning.

I eperience the AFR going up as soon as the MAP goes up, meaning ...

it runs oka, sometimes a small hesitation, but that is not worrying me. I am afraid I need idle air control, which would rather not have as I run MS1 stock code

I must admit I am in the same trouble: car drives pretty well, idle is bad. I can get the idle right, but when I rev it and take my foot off the acceelarator the engine dies or almost dies
Maybe the supercharger and bypass valve makes it even more complex. I use the Bosch aux. air valve for cold ...

MAP 70 kPa at idle, is that a problem?

Hi there

The best MAP I can get at idle is 70kPa, I know this is high, but I run a superchager and I think this SC rises the MAP readings at idle as well. Moreover I think the byepass valve (byepassing the blower) is not working at idle. Anyway, is this high MAP reading a problem. What might be ...

flowrate #029 5278

Thx

Is that with the MS1 with extra code? Or MS2? If I remember well, the MS can only trigger a FIdle valve (on / off), no idle controll as fa as I remember though

Either running a dashpot or the extra code with an Idle Stability Valve will make your car a lot more reliable at idle, I couldn`t set hot idle below 1200 rpm without the ISV, car would die more often than not coming back down to idle..

I run a super charger and map at idle is in the 60`s ...

Thx guys, I run the MS1, no ign control yet, the only way I can get a bit more advance at idle is to reconnect my vacuum advance to the dizzy. I removed that one because I fear detonation (supercharged).

The car is running pretty well, no hesitation or flooding. The cold I have to tackle a bit more ...

Hi James

I am in the Netherlands, you told me about the extra code. I am a bit afraid to change the code, never done and all the extra parameters to fill in scare me a bit.

Anyway, f there is no other way I upgrade the code
