Hi,

The 'gentle pottering' was maybe a bit of a lie - hence the (honest) :)

After a bit more serious mapping, it seems to drive really well, and pull happily from 1500 rpm. Perhaps having 200kg less car to drag around helps a bit with that one !!!

If I can find someone local (& cheap) who can ...

After 100 miles of gentle pottering (honest) I really haven't found there to be a big black hole in the low torque without the TVIS stuffs, so will probably run as is for a while longer.

Hopefully get things mapped properly in the next few days using the LC-1, so will see when it's driven a bit ...

I've already removed it as part of the 'speed build' but was wondering if I'll really need it in the long run.

I pulled out the locator rings, and just added some spacers to the bolts so it's easily reversible.

I guess I just need to drive it to see :D

Running a 4AGE with the TVIS removed

Hi, anyone got any experience of running a large port 4AGE with the TVIS plate removed (or butterflys permanently open) ?

It shouldn't be hard to tune around it , but wondering if it would be better to shorten the manifold a little so the TVIS can be left in.

(Mini install so fairly tight engine ...

Shirly 2 TBs is going to fuel differently to 2 carbs because with a TB the fuel appears when the ECU says 'squirt', but with a carb the fuel appears when the inlet port opens and the fuel is 'sucked' out.

By my feeble reckoning you could get away with pretty uneven spacing between 'suck' events and ...

Waxstat... I didn't spot that, is that the thing I think is a vac jobby, with 2 hose fittings on the end ??

Oooo, just taken it to bits, and yep it's a waxstat.

With all the other vac plumbing I got confused.

Easy for the cold/warm idle thing, but not so good for idle control - sorry :(

I don't know if these will be the same, but on my CBR929 TBs there is an airbleed valve built into each body. They are all operated by a long shaft with 'fingers' the press each valve. There is a thumbwheel adjuster to set idle speed and a vac thing that also operates on it.

Should be fine to leave ...
