Ping under low boost

Under about 5+ lbs of boost I get some ping under boost. AFR is about 11:1, so should I remove a degree or two of timing? Timing is currently retarded 1 degree per psi.

Sorry about the total newb question but I want to get this engine tuned right.

Aha! One of the injector wires was pulled out of the relay board and continuously grounding against the case. Screwed it back down and it all works now. :D

This is very common..

If there is a miss, the raw air and fuel gets dumped into the exhaust. The wideband O2 sensor reads this as being very lean as there is alot of unburnt oxygen.

That's what I'm thinking.

Drove it around some today and it was saying around 15:1, then it started running ...

Odd reading from LM-1

I took the new engine for its first drive today, using the tune for my old engine. According to the LM-1, I was running at about 15:1 AFR. Good, good. But the engine starting bucking like it was way too rich and fouling the plugs. I datalogged, ran it through MegaTweak, and modified my VE map, which ...

I was going to say you ordered the wrong one, but ...

... when I ordered mine, Summit sold two versions: MSD-2222, which was non-vacuum-referenced, and the MSD-2222A, which was.

Now they only sell the vacuum-referened one under the MSD-2222 part number.

Huh.

I'm using the MSD-2222A, which is actually a Bosch part, on my turbo ACVW. It will go to 50psi or above when on boost. :) It works very well and goes up exactly one psi of fuel pressure for every one psi of positive manifold pressure. I could only get it to produce around 42-43 psi of static fuel ...

You should be able to fit the EDIS coil ends on your existing plug wires. All you need is a crimping tool. :D

I have used both. The disc-type seem to work a lot better.

My experience with alternating vs. simultaneous is this:

I have a horizontally opposed engine. When I had both injectors on the same side on the same circuit (1+2, 3+4), I found that two squirts simultaneous provided the smoothest idle and low-end. When I had two injectors on opposing sides on the ...
