Why don't you have a look at the schematics? You can easily follow the signal to the CPU.

Hi,

With what have you measured the 5v? The PIP is a square wave, it's 12V p-p (unloaded). If you measure it with a multimeter, see 6V (DC) at best.
Check this for more info.

If you use the opto input, it can load the PIP signal so that it will be only 6-8V p-p, depending on the series resistor ...
