Re: Porsche 944 Turbo Microsquirted, only one issue now

That is great stuff!!! I will need to ponder the VR fix. The one thing I really want to do is get rid of the of the speed and reference sensors. They are expensive and tend to fail (these and DME relays are the bane of our existence). I also like the simplicity of the EDIS unit and the cost savings ...

Re: Porsche 944 Turbo Microsquirted, only one issue now

Sorry for the delay in response. There is no need to run a trigger wheel on the 944 or 951, even easier on a 944S or S2 with the 60-1 factory wheel. I have run several thousand miles on the mS on the 951 using the factory wiring harness and factory speed and reference sensors. Check out the sticky ...

Re: *** MicroSquirt issues with VR Sensor input - fix ***

After doing a lot of reading :RTFM: , and testing  and primarily help from Bruce and SQLGUY  ,I have successfully turned up my rev limiter to 6800 RPM with no TACH loss. Thats right, 132 teeth at 6800 rpm. :yeah!: :yeah!: :yeah!:

This was accomplished by performing the mod that Bruce ...

Re: *** MicroSquirt issues with VR Sensor input - fix ***

I made this modification to my mS using a 1N4148, on both VR inputs. Just an FYI, the band of the diode goes in the opposite direction on the second VR input and was probably not necessary to change both of these out.

This gave me a net gain of around 2k rpm. I am running a factory Porsche 944 ...

Re: High tooth count wheel not reving over 2900

I did the mod to the mS that is listed here http://www.microsquirt.com/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=23063 With a pot in place for resistance, I can cleanly run 5K rpm, much over that and I get trigger loss, but this is a huge improvement from the 2600-3000 limit I could run before. I have my rev limiter set ...

Re: Going lean under boost and high load

Thanks for the reply. I had some time to work on the car and have made a lot of progress since my last post. I have 2, 3 ohm resistors installed, one per injector driver. This seems to have made a huge improvement on the going lean issue. I am still working on the latest VE tables, but am very close ...

Re: Going lean under boost and high load

OK, hopefully there is someone who can help.

I bought a couple of Ohmite resistors and tested over the weekend. I tried a 10 ohm 25 watt resistor and i could not get the car started. I'll try them some more later this week.

I installed the 3 Ohm, 50 watt, resistors and the car started, but idled ...

Re: Going lean under boost and high load

I found this post, and feel like it is more than likely my problem. I am running a total of 4, 2.5 ohm injectors. 2 per driver. I'll do some more research and post up any findings.

Yep, this one was tricky! But having the scope on the output available was the help needed....

The driver stage on ...

Re: Going lean under boost and high load

It actually goes lean, 100%TPS, and I lift when I see the rise in AFR. I will try that, but even this afternoon all enrichments turned off and tried to dial in by VE, It would hold the correct AFR for a few seconds under 100% TPS and start to drop. The length of time that the AFR's stayed on track ...
