Re: Noise filters

Hmmm, cdi? I wonder if its worth trying a 75V zener instead of the 24V zener you are running. Or 2 x 75V zeners in series even. A bad tach signal could easily be the source of your issues. The 24V zener was what got your bike half running in the first place.

Re: Bike died on the dyno

You said you refitted the carbies and it was all ok, so that should rule out the stock ignition system.

I'm wondering if the 5V regulator inside the uS is getting hot and shutting down. No other ideas at this stage. If you open up the case can you smell any "burnt" smells?

Re: Bike died on the dyno

You could try wiring an LED and a 560 ohm resistor and a 1N4007 diode across one of your injectors. When the LED lights the injector is getting power and should be open. If it doesn't light up, then the injector is not getting a signal from the uS to turn on. Did you try hard-wiring the 12V from the ...

Re: Intake air temperature

MS uses the air temp going into the engine to work out the air density, so it can calculate how much fuel to inject. Hotter air = less dense = less oxygen = less fuel injected.

Usually there are no tuning probs associated with this, except when you park a hot vehicle the air temp sensor can get ...

Re: Bike died on the dyno

Dave was around today, so we took another look at your datalog, just trying to help we are. The TechEdge WB also reset on the first power interruption. Looks like the power isn't solid. Whatever source of power killed the uS also cut power to the WB, that is your clue.

Re: Help Identifying Buell Injector

The stock Buell motor makes about 100hp at the crank. Try a www.badweatherbikers.com search. They are high Z.

Re: Bike died on the dyno

If the rev limit is 11500 then don't worry about the caps idea, I don't know what I was thinking. Have you put in a new set of plugs since all this tuning began, a bit of running rich can take its toll, maybe throw in a new set of plugs if you haven't already? In the datalog it looked like the revs ...

Re: Bike died on the dyno

The datalog is good, but I still can't understand the reason for the reset. Just before the reset, it looks like a slight miss-fire in the rpm, then the TPS drops, but CLT and IAT remain stable so the 5V supply looks good, as does the battery voltage. Then the RPM drops like the TPS. Being a fuel ...

Re: Bike died on the dyno

Can you post your datalog and msq? Or just the datalog at least? You are using 2.886 code, alpha-n, fuel only, driving the optocoupler from the coil negative with a series 24V zener, running 4 inj's from the 2 inj outputs on a 4 cyl in-line that revs to 10,000rpm, correct? Just checking details so ...
