I have been running the new code and it definately works better. Yesterday I jumped the resistors on the board to see if I can get a constistant idle from start to start. I will let you know how it works out.

I am running MS II, V3 board, and the o-ring style GM IAC.

Timing my GM DIS ingition

First off I am running MSII and a V3 board.

I have recently installed a new engine in my car and upgraded my ingition from the GM HEI 8 pin to the DIS setup (v6 engine). I have the car up and running with little problems, but I dont know where my timing is. Right now the car runs great if I DONT ...

Well my IAC is working much better, but I think I still need to jump my resistors because I still need a high start value to get the IAC to open all the way.

Could someone list which ones to jump for all the boards? Mine is a V3 board.

Thanks again to everyone who got this working.

I have just found this thread and have the same problems as everyone else.

I just finished loading the new code and am going to test it.
Do I need to add a jumper of any of the resisors, if so which ones? v3 board.

Thanks for all the work that went into this

My gm IAC takes almost 290 steps to go all the way in. What you need to do is make it so the pintle is all the way out, then increase the start value (like 20 steps or so) and cycle the key each time to test. Do this untill the IAC goes all the way in with just one key on.

Right now mine is not ...

Lance thanks for the suggestions but I got it figured out. I was looking over my board and was reading step 50 again and found that I left out the jumper for D1. The car starts now but the idle air control valve is not working. I will start looking into that tomorrow.

The car ran great befor I choped the wiring harness, so I know all of the components are good and working. When I start cranking the car starts for a second and then dies, if I hold the throttle down to ...

Thanks keithmac for your help.

I think I will just wire a switch in to ground so if I want to put the factory ECU back in all I have to do is flip the switch to turn the fuel pump on.

Fuel pump relay questions

I have just ordered my MS-II (V3 board) unit and am trying to make a wiring diagram for my self so I know what wires to cut. I have a 87' Pontiac Fiero and am planing on cutting out the factory ECU (it does not control my gauges). I was looking at my factory diagrams and the stock ECU gives the fuel ...
